Two HHK Partners appointed to the US District Court’s NDNY Mandatory Mediation Panel

Hinman, Howard & Kattell partners Albert J. Millus, Jr. and Paul T. Sheppard have been appointed to the Mediator Panel of the Pilot Mandatory Mediation Program for the Northern District of New York.   The Mediator Panel is comprised of 64 highly qualified lawyers of the 9,085 attorneys across the Northern District. The panel is designed to streamline the civil case resolution process in the Northern District.  To implement the program, the Court’s Board of Judges solicited recommendations from the Federal Court Bar Association and the Judges themselves, and the Chief Judge of the District extended invitations to attorneys selected by the Board.

Albert Millus is the chair of Hinman, Howard & Kattell’s Commercial Litigation practice group.  In addition to the Northern District of New York Mr. Millus is admitted in the US Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and Federal Circuits, as well as the US District Court’s Southern and Western Districts of New York.  His practice focuses in the areas of litigation, construction law, labor and employment, zoning, land use and development and criminal defense.

Paul Sheppard serves as the chair of Hinman, Howard & Kattell’s Real Property Tax Assessment and Condemnation practice group.  Mr. Sheppard is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and Pennsylvania.  He is also admitted to the US District Court’s Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York and the Middle and Eastern Districts of Pennsylvania as well as the US Supreme Court, the US Court of Appeals for the 2nd, 3rd and Federal Circuits.  Mr. Sheppard’s practice focuses in the areas of real property tax assessment and condemnation, litigation and labor and employment.
