HIPAA Privacy in Light of the Ebola Crisis

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Civil Rights has issued a Bulletin addressing HIPAA Privacy in light of the Ebola Crisis.  The Bulletin addresses when private health information may be disclosed to public health officials, to foreign governments, to persons at risk of contracting the disease and to family and friends of an individual being treated.  The Bulletin is available at: http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/hipaa/understanding/special/emergency/emergencysituations.pdf
