Jeremy P. Sedelmeyer is an associate in the Trusts, Estates and Wealth Planning Practice Group at Hinman, Howard & Kattell. His practice involves counseling individuals on all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, elder law, Medicaid planning and special needs planning. In addition to the preparation of Wills, Health Care Proxies and Powers of Attorney, Mr. Sedelmeyer has also assisted his estate planning clients in Medicaid applications and long-term care planning. Mr. Sedelmeyer’s practice includes handling guardianships for the developmentally disabled, persons with mental illness, and persons with reduced cognitive ability. When planning for persons with special needs, Mr. Sedelmeyer often assists his clients in the preparation of Special Needs Trusts.
Mr. Sedelmeyer is also a member of the Not-for-Profit Corporation and Foundations Practice Group and counsels foundations and not-for-profit corporations in all aspects of operation and governance, including assistance with formation and dissolution.
Prior to joining HH&K, Mr. Sedelmeyer received his B.A. degree from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY (Political Science & Philosophy; magna cum laude) and received his J.D. from University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, OH. While at UDSL, Mr. Sedelmeyer was a member of the University of Dayton Law Review and Intern with the Legal Clinic.
A native of Endicott, graduate of Seton Catholic Central High School, and a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Mr. Sedelmeyer is actively involved in serving the Greater Binghamton community where he was raised. Mr. Sedelmeyer currently serves on the Board of Directors for Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, the Catholic Education Foundation of the Southern Tier and the Catholic Charities of Broome County. Mr. Sedelmeyer serves as a member of the business development committee for ACHIEVE, and is a member of the steering committee for the We Honor Veterans LOURDES Hospice-Veteran Partnership. Mr. Sedelmeyer is a member of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce’s Broome Leadership Institute Class of 2016.
