About
John E. Jones is a partner at Hinman, Howard & Kattell and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. John focuses his practice on commercial and residential real estate, oil and gas law and cooperative ownership of real estate.
John represents regional and national banks and insurance companies in commercial and residential real estate lending transactions, as well as buyers and sellers of commercial and residential real estate. He also represents local cooperatives and buyers and sellers of cooperative units. John has also assisted clients with the purchase and sale of mineral rights, including severed mineral estates.

John is a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, serving as a District Representative and Co-Chair of the Section’s Title and Transfer Committee. John helped create the Section’s Local Practice Guide for Residential Real Estate. He is also a member of the State Bar Association’s House of Delegates.
John has achieved an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell. He is a graduate of the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce Broome Leadership Institute and an Advisor to Sepp, Inc., a developer and manager of Senior Residential Communities.
